The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon sexuality confirmed
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has stepped in to distinct up whether Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is lgbtq+ or straight.
Speaking to Talking Dead (via Digital Spy), Kirkman said that “Daryl Dixon is actually straight.”
He went on to tell that “Coming back in our next half of the season, we are going to be introducing a very prominent queer character from the comics.”
The show added its first LGBT character last season when former police academy student Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson) made her initial appearance in ‘Live Bait’.
There’s been plenty of speculation about Daryl’s sexuality, often centred on the truth the character hasn’t shown any romantic interest in any of his fellow survivors. The speculation quite reasonably escalated when Reedus revealed in an interview with GQ that Frank Darabont, who, let’s not forget, actually co-created the character, suggested that he play the character as gay.

Well, "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman felt the need to distinct things up on his show "The Talking Dead" after Monday night's midseason finale.
“I can make it official, Daryl Dixon is actually straight," Kirkman said.
He added that Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, is "somewhat asexual on the show" and that his introverted persona is probably his appeal to viewers.
Kirkman wanted to plain up a letters column where the possibility of Daryl being gay was presented. But Kirkman and network AMC also wanted to emphasize they would have been fine with Dixon’s being gay, but that it's not the case.
Kirkman did add that "a very prominent male lover character" would be introduced in the next half of the season.

According to Comicbook.com, in the letter section of theThe Walking Dead comic book issue No. 130, which was released on Wednesday, Kirkman responded to a question from a fan, who asked if the possibility of Daryl creature gay had been considered.
"All I can say is that it's been discussed," the outlet quoted him as saying.
"We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there's ever a peaceful period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by crossbowing...we'll tackle it in the show," Kirkman added.

The Walking Dead Norman Reedus has revealed he'd had a chat with journalist Frank Darabont at an Oscar party where he shared plans for Daryl to be gay.
