Penguin & Riddler: DC's Best Gay Relationship

I can't be bought, but I can be stolen with a glance. I'm worthless to one, but priceless to two. It’s a story for the ages… Penguin and Riddler in love.

Gotham has made a name for itself as the one show you can count on to do the things no other series would think to do. Sometimes this involves turning Jim Gordon into a cold-blooded killer, and sometimes it involves the Penguin and Riddler becoming romantically entwined.

What many of us had believed was true since the first season of Gotham, when Edward Nygma rescued Penguin and nursed him back to health, was eventually confirmed when the exhibit had Penguin acknowledge that he openly loves the Riddler. It’s not reciprocated, at last verbally, but this is Gotham, and there are no joyful relationships here. But still, Gotham went and said that Penguin is actually, full-on in adoration with the Riddler.

So, yes, Penguin is in love with Riddler, though the latter is a bit less than reciprocal. Okay, okay, Ed actively tries to kill Oswald, but that’s only because the Penguin killed the chick Ed himself loved out of possessiveness. L

Gotham Star Shuts Down Those Who Complain a Male lover Penguin Is Not ‘Canon’

Taylor is not a broken person. Furthermore, pretty much nothing in Gotham is like the comics. As a comic book reader of almost 40 years, I can confidently express that. Ivy (not Pamela) is a character they grew up to engage up for a sexy character, who is a prostitute with a juvenile mind, Batgirl’s mother is a psycho killer, Montoya and Allen were the same age as Gordon who didn’t like him – all things not in the comics. There was no Fish Mooney, there was no adoration between Gordon and Dr. Thompkins, there were no super villains that fought a young Gordon, Selina Kyle did not witness The Waynes murdered, nor killed anyone as a child, and so on.

The Penguin originally was a bullied child because of his weight, always carried an umbrella because his mother was concerned he’d be caught in the rain and become sick and die as his father did, and outside his mother the only friends he had were the birds he cared for. The nature has undergone many changes since then, most notably in “Batman Returns,” so it is not just to pin down a definitive origin for the character, esp

When I saw that FOX was giving Penguin a beautiful heavy bromance / love story between him and The Riddler or Edward Nigma, I actually started looking up the Penguins former love interest trying to see if there were any males or females in the past. I paused often thinking that it shouldn't matter, but I did wish to find out what had been written before.  Could they do this?  Would it shatter from history so much that it would disrupt the flow of Oswald Cobblepot's story?  Here's the response I was waiting for.

R Lord Taylor, who plays the Penguin on Fox's Gotham, has been vocal about his own personal experiences with homophobia in the past. Over the weekend at Rhode Island Comic Con, the actor spoke about his biggest aggravation when it comes to talks about his character's sexuality.

In a  from the event, embedded below, Taylor expresses his thoughts over the characterization of the iconic villain. He mentions that while many fans say they have no issues with the Penguin being gay or queer, they also contradictorily make observe that this is a deviation from the character in the comics. "That's a bunch of

Why Gotham’s Robin Lord Taylor’s marriage was partly ‘a political decision’

Robin Lord Taylor steals scenes on Gotham as Oswald Cobblepot, the creepy, young Penguin.

Though the actor keeps his personal life private, he opened up about his summer 2011 wedding to longtime partner Dickie on Andy Cohen Live, describing the intimate affair held at his parent’s house in Iowa, which became the third state to legalize same-sex marriage in 2009.

“We initially didn’t even deliberate about getting married, and then it was legalized in Iowa. It was a judicial decision, so they were talking about taking it away,” explained Taylor, 37. “So we were like, well, you know, if we complete it, we have all the means to undertake it, we know that we’ll be together forever, so let’s do it.”

“It was kind of prefer a political decision. It was not the most romantic thing, you know?” he added, laughing. “But then it became that. And a week to the day after we were married, it was legalized in New York City. That was the day we came support to New York. It was legalized that morning and it was also Gay Pride, and I was like, ‘Where’s my float?'”

Robin Lord Taylor, who stars as Penguin in Fox's Gotham show put in a pre-Batman Gotham City, has once again blasted back at critics of the gay storyline between his character and Cory Michael Smith's Riddler.

In an interview with Collider, Taylor blasts back at fans who have criticised his portrayal of the character in the plotline which has seen his Penguin and Riddler become shut in the series.

"A lot of people [were] coming at me and saying like, 'I love what you do with the Penguin, but I really hate this gay thing because it's not canon.'

"Penguin was raised by penguins, and that was apparently fine, and you perceive Jack Nicholson, the Joker killing Batman's parents in the [Tim Burton movie]. I haven't really seen a lot of people shitting their pants about that.

"But, you know, when we introduce a lgbtq+ storyline, 'Eh, we adore you and we like the show, but this really bothers me because you're really messing with the character's origins.'
