The perfect coming of age story.
Yes! It's definitely one of your improved coming of age stories.
Oscar is a kid dealing with his parents divorce living with his possessive father who manliness clashes with Oscars's artistic side and then there is the fact that he's allowing his sexually to approach the surface. He deals with it by having a close bond with his hamster, Buffy.
It's a cliché seen in a lot of movies but done so naturally in this one that it does not look like one at all.
Plus I was surprisingly entertained by the whole movie.
Wonderful character development. I just like all the supporting character's relationship with the main one.
I cant think of another amazing or greater example of a teen going through growing pains.
Take a look.

A living breathing poem
PROS: The first thing that you need to mention with this movie is the acting. With a whole bunch of new faces you tend to believe the worst, and this was not the case here. This movie was filled with good actors, from small roles to big ones such as the main character Oscar played by Conner Jessup. Although t
The idea for PFLAG began in 1972 when Jeanne Manford marched with her son, Morty, in New York’s Christopher Street Liberation Time March, the precursor to today’s Event parade. After many gay and sapphic people ran up to Jeanne during the parade and begged her to talk to their parents, she decided to begin a support group. ~ PFLAG website
Coming out to mother has become a staple of gay media. Son comes out, mom says something heartwarming (or cruel), and everyone cries. In some cases this is the mom’s sole narrative purpose in her sons’ coming of age story. The following films produce the mother/son bond the primary concentrate of the production. Some provide absorbing and complex roles for women. Some… do not.
The obeying reviews contain mild spoilers and some of these films contain triggery subject matter.
Disapproving Mothers
Sometimes it’s religion. Sometimes it’s misinformation. Sometimes they tell themselves they just don’t like their sons’ boyfriend. But each of these mothers must come to terms with their sons homosexuality if they’re going to keep him a part of their lives.

Coming-Out Story
And the other two aretransgender and genderfluid.
And I just acquire to live
And I wanna give
I'm completely positive.
I consider this time around
I am gonna do it
Like you never knew it
Oh, I'll make it through.
The hour has come for me
To break out of this shell
I have to shout
That I am coming out!

The LGBT+ Coming-Out Story: the moment a Closet Gay or Bi or Trans etc. ethics comes out to everyone around them. This includes a character's journey to embracing their identity and who they really are. Happens at least once for almost every LGBT character ever, but most often seen with sapphic or gay characters, due to the No Bisexuals trope and trans characters still being rare as well (as are asexual, pansexual, etc. characters).
Although there are only so many variations you can do with it, you can be assured that any LGBT cast member of a show will relate to it at one point, or someone in their life will wholeheartedly support them, while at least another will turn out to be homophobic and will loathe them. When parents are involved, they will either
In 2021, ASIFA-East hosted its 4th annual “Queer Animation” screening. But what compassionate of stories do these animators tell?
Thirty-five years ago, on October 11th, 1987, “On the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, we first observed National Coming Out Day as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out… our stories can be powerful to each other.” (Human Rights Campaign) Observing rather than “celebrating” is a good selection since, in my exposure, it usually involves a series of highly sentimental confessions proliferated across social media. If you are gay, lesbian, or “queer” in some way outside of the heterosexual majority, this day can experience overwhelming, as you relive your own experiences. However, everyone (especially The Straights ™) is there to learn something from this open sharing.
Queer Animation Reviewing (2021)
Some stories are outright tragic, but end with a hopeful triumph. Other stories can be so kind that they spark a twinge of envy in those less fortunate. Asking someone how they “came out of the closet” is probably the most person
