A Concise History
Pride Month, sometimes specified as LGBTQ or LGBTQIA+ Self-acceptance Month, is a month-long observance consecrated to commemorating the contributions of female homosexual, gay, bisexual, trans person, queer, intersex, asexual, and others (LGBTQIA+) culture and collective. Pride Month is observed in June in the Joined States, coinciding with the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests.
