18 yr old gay
In the summer of 1999, when he was 15, a youth I will refer to by only his first name, Jeffrey, finally admitted to himself that he was gay. This finding out had been coming on for some time; he had noticed that he felt no attraction to girls and that he became aroused when showering with other boys after physical learning process class. But Jeffrey is a devout Southern Baptist, attending church several times each week, where, he says, the pastor seems to make a gesture of condemning homosexuality. Jeffrey knew of no homosexuals in his high university or in his small town in the heart of the South. (He asked that I withhold not only his last label but also any other aspects of his life that might reveal his identity.) He prayed that his errant feelings were a phase. But as the truth gradually settled over him, he told me last summer during a phone conversation punctuated by nervous visits to his bedroom door to make sure no family member was listening in, he became suicidal.
“I’m a Christian – I’m like, how could God possibly accomplish this to me?” he said. “My mother’s always saying, ‘It’ll be so wonderful when you meet that pretty Christian g
Gay Relationship Advice: Age Gaps in Gay Relationships
Many of my LGBTQ counseling clients ask me why they are only attracted to gay men younger than themselves. If you are happy dating gay men in their twenties, then this question is not important. It’s like asking “Why do I opt favor blondes over brunettes?” My advice is to permit yourself enjoy dating whomever interests you (as extended as they are over the age of 18).
Age gap relationships are more common than you may realize. In western countries:
- 1 out of every twelve male/female couples has an age gap of 10 years or more
- that number increase to 25% in male/male couples
- and 15% of female/female relationships
That same analyze indicated that age gap partners are more satisfied and more committed to each other than partners of similar age–though there is some research that points to a correlation with higher rates of divorce. Research also shows that couples with an age gap of less than ten years are happier than those with an age gap greater than ten years. Parent Suspects That Child Might Be Gay
ANSWER:
Believe it or not, it’s a hopeful sign that your teen son has brought up the subject of lgbtq+ attraction and homosexuality. Nothing is more important than open communication between parent and child — especially when it comes to sexuality and gender identity.
So you might want to try drawing your son out. You could demand, “What made you curious about this?”
If you attend carefully and respond wisely, he might share more of his thought processes. This can lead to a helpful discussion of the subject. It will also strengthen your bond — and a wonderful parent-child relationship is one of the best lines of defense against homosexuality.
Hear your child’s heart

'Romeo & Juliet Law' Gives Same-sex attracted Teen 16 Years More In Prison than Heterosexual Would Serve
KANSAS CITY, KS - Kansas' so-called ""Romeo and Juliet Law"" is unconstitutional because it gives lesbian and male lover youth much higher prison sentences than straight youth who engage in the same behavior, the American Civil Liberties Union said in an appeal concise filed today.
Matthew Limon is appealing a 17-year prison sentence he received because shortly after he turned 18, he performed oral sex on a nearly-15-year-old male at a residential university for developmentally disabled youth where they both lived in Miami County, Kansas. If he had instead performed oral sex on a 14-year-old female, he would have received 12 months in jail under the ""Romeo and Juliet Law,"" which applies only to heterosexuals.
""The only difference between a year in jail and 17 years is whether or not you're gay,"" said Matt Coles, Director of the ACLU Lesbian & Lgbtq+ Rights Project, which filed a friend-of-the-court bri
